Hi, I’m Amy. I’m an 18-year-old student at Teesside University where I am in my first year studying Journalism. Sport has been my number one passion for as long as I can remember- in fact, I was always known as the ‘sporty one’ or the one who was going to the Olympics all the way through school, and probably still am now!
My main sporting event is Athletics in particular the sprint hurdles. I have been competing in the hurdles since I was around 10 years old and it has taken me all over the country. My biggest achievement from the hurdles is definitely representing England at the Welsh International in 2018 and coming third. However, I have recently been selected to compete in the British Championship’s so I am currently preparing and training extremely hard for this!
However, I did not start off my sporting journey within Athletics. I joined my local swimming club when I was 5 years old, closely followed by Ballet lessons when I was 6. I then decided that these 2 sports were not for me and I joined my local football team – Skelton United, to which I played with for 6 years! Whilst playing football, I started running with New Marske Harriers doing the cross-country (I have no idea how I managed to run that far as I couldn’t even run half one now!). After I decided that cross country was just too much of an effort for me, I moved onto sprints, to which I occasionally still do. I was around 8 years old when I started athletics and 10 years later I still get the same enjoyment and buzz out of it.
So, I have decided to start this fitness and lifestyle blog so people can follow my sporting journey as well as trying to give my advice and fitness tips. I believe I have a lot of experience and knowledge on athletics and would love to share this with you!
So please, sit back and enjoy….
